One-Way Ferry from Norway to Scotland?
Would you please know if there is a ferry from Norway to Scotland? I am just starting to plan a trip for this summer and would like to get to Scotland from either Bergen or Stavanger.

According to seat61 the ferry option still exists for UK to the Netherlands with onward train connections. Unfortunately not for Norway - I checked earlier this year.

I was really replying to your comment about Denmark, but after reading the seat61.com piece more carefully, doesn't look like a practical option even to get to Copenhagen. I have certainly opted to fly from Oslo to the UK after my Hurtigruten cruise.

Hetismij : Is right..
We did have ferry connections to Bergen and Stavanger but following the appearance of silly cheap low cost airlines, the routes have ceased.
The last link was Harwich (I think) to Esbjerg but that was dropped last year.
I would have dearly have loved to take our new Volvo over to Norway and Sweden. It just isn't going to happen.
Ryanair and SAS usually have the best price tickets, Norwegian Air have good routes but are usually more expensive.

Thank you. So far, I could only find a non-stop flight Bergen-Aberdeen.
May be I will try the following itinerary although I think it may be too much territory to cover in 4-5 weeks? I'd like a mix of cities(museums)and nature. Would not mind to visit one good spa in Sweden, if possible. Any suggestions? I have never been in this part of the world.
Fly: US-Stockholm
Train: Stockholm-Copenhagen
Ferry: Copenhagen-Oslo
Train: Oslo-Bergen
Fly: Bergen-Aberdeen
Train: Aberdeen-Edinburg, etc.
Fly: Edinburg-US

Is a direct flight so important? Norwegian has several flights via Oslo. Or you could start your Norwegian leg in Bergen - there is a ferry from northern Denmark: http://www.directferries.co.uk/
