Olive Oil Estates & Wineries

My husband and I would like to tour an olive oil estate and a winery while in Sicily next spring. Can anyone suggest either in the Agrigento or Taormina region?

Thanks!

It means "to the top". It brings your thread to the top of the list of posts in the left column(as any response does) so others might see it and have answers for you.

Will you be going in November, which is olive harvest time? That's the best time to see the pressing process.

Closer to Taormina than Regaleali is to Agrigento is this estate on the slopes of Mt. Etna that produces both wine and olive oil:

http://www.murgo.it/murgo_ita.htm

It's only in Italian, but it says that they are happy to receive visitors. One is asked to provide the number of visitors, the day and the time of arrival. The email address is [email protected].

I'm fairly sure the owner speaks English; he's a count, and the Sicilian aristocracy are pretty well educated these days.

Sorry: Closer to Taormina than *Tasca d'Almerita* is to Agrigento...

You might get more answers if you start a new thread with Sicily and the cities in the title. There aren't any individual country forums so your post shows under the general Europe forum.
