Where do Italians shop for U.S. vacation lodging?
Plan A½ for the condo we acquired in December was to swap with Europeans to fill it in the otherwise slow summer months, and enjoy home catering in Italy - someplace that would make lots of day trips by train or car feasible.
Where would an Italian look for a house swap in America? We're already on VRBO.

I’ve seen interesting houses on http://www.homeexchange.com/ although I have never used the service and don’t know anything about is reliability, safety, etc. I have used vrbo.com with great success while living in Europe to rent places in both Europe and the US. (But do they have a swap option? I thought it was pure rentals.)
You might also try http://www.slowtrav.com/. If you don’t get Italians on it, you may find Brits there with holiday homes in Italy who want to do an exchange. There probably are UK-based home exchange sites where you might look too, again for Brits with holiday homes in Italy (or Spain, another popular place where you may want to do a swap).
Is your listing in both Italian and English? Obviously for people coming to the US and using vrbo.com they will want to speak and read some English, but a listing in Italian might get more Italian speakers to at least look.

Yeah - thanks for the Google reference; it's the first place I looked. Real useful.
My hope was that someone could separate the wheat from the chaff, but I guess you're not equipped to do that, so you suggest Google.

I haven't used it but it's been around for ages, so I'd guess it's good.
Hope that wasn't too rudimentary.
