Oia Hotel in Santorini
Will be in Santorini beginning of September and looking for a hotel in Oia with pool and caldera view. Considering Esperas hotel but is view just for sunset and not caldera view? Also considering Strogili, La Perla, Filotera Villas, Nostros. I was wondering what is recommended and any special rooms to request?

As I posted earlier today:
Esperas is one of the very few hotels that offer both caldera and sunset views. I suppose the caldera view is slightly obstructed, but not by much. What you don't get to see is most of Oia, which is on the other side of a ridge that separates the two main areas of the village.
Strogili, La Perla, Filotera and Nostos are all very good hotels.
If you want more suggestions please state your maximum daily room budget. If you've already eliminated some please list them to avoid repetition.

Brotherleelove2004, I appreciate all your past posts. Would prefer to spend less than Esperas but want a nice deck to enjoy the view. I will look into your other suggestions.
We will be in Santorini 5 days. I have done the boat trip to see the other volcano islands. Are there any other islands to see for a day trip? (we will be coming from Crete) Is there any scuba diving in Santorini?

Other than Therassia across the caldera the nearest islands for a possible daytrip are Ios and Naxos but you'll have to wait until you're there to see what the ferry schedules will permit.
In general the diving around Santorini would be disappointing. There's not much to see underwater except for algae-covered rocks and sea grasses. The few located antiquities that do exist are off-limits.

Why no consider staying in Imerovigli. The prices there might be better for you. Just punch in search"imerovigli hotels" Yes not much to see underwater but here is a link for diving - sometimes just diving is enough http://www.greeka.com/cyclades/santo...ini-diving.htm

I stayed at esperas 2 or so years ago. I read that you were trying to find a less expensive place. I don't know if its still the case or not, but they gave a 10% discount if you paid in cash ahead of time. that might help your budget.
