<<I'm not sure why a "new number" would be issued to a credit card account,>>
My credit card company issued my account a new number after my card was hacked last fall. They then mailed me the new card. Nelson, I would bring both cards plus the print-out from Ticketmaster that shows your credit card number (this would be the old, expired number which you used to purchase the tickets) and then the Ticketmaster form shows an "ID" number and a "Referencia" number. Also, a lock of hair of your first-born . . . and an eye of newt wouldn't hurt either. This Alhambra ticket process is so enjoyable!

A sacrificial goat might come in handy.
Regarding the CC number change, we have be issued new numbers on each of our accounts in the last 6 months, once while on a road trip. Mine was due to one of the well publicized hack events, either Target or Home Depot. My wife's was a random case where the card info was stolen, we'll never know where.
Next event: The Renfe train ticket hurdle!

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but we were told by our apartment that the best place to pick up the Alhambra tickets was the official bookstore of the Alhambra monument near the Plaza Nueva in Granada. We went in, and the guy printed out our day and night tickets for the following day (took five minutes). It might be easier to talk to someone there than at the Alhambra (plus there aren't any lines). I think it is called Tienda Librería de la Alhambra. I would ask at your hotel. I looked up the address online and it says: Calle Reyes Católicos, 40. Once again, check with your hotel to see if that is correct.

…working on it! Might have first installment up by tomorrow afternoon or Friday (this report will make War And Peace look like a short story). I should have the entire report done before you leave

Just a note...when we went to the Alhambra bookstore on Calle Reyes Católicos their ticket machine was out of order. We ended up having to wait until we got to the Alhambra but were able to pick up our tickets there from a machine (avoided the long line.) There is a small building to the right of the ticket line where you can do this in case this happens to you. I was so stressed out about it but it ended up being no big deal.

Have been trying to purchase our tickets for an hour now. The site keeps resetting the number of persons to zero. When it finally accepts 'two' and I hit continue it resets to zero again. Dates are Nov 4 so not sold out. Will try again tomorrow and hope it works.
Thanks for the great idea of buying two sets of tickets. We arrive from Ronda the day we will take the afternoon tour and we will purchase the garden only ticket for the next morning just in case four hours isn't enough time. Nov times are 2-6 pm so will definitely spend the 8 euro for the option of viewing the gardens again...which we love to do.

Unfortunately we will be visiting in November on a Wednesday and Thursday so the night tour is not available then. I was disappointed. We will be in Spain and Portugal for three weeks so I will have to get my 'night time viewing' fix in at one of the other marvelous monuments/palaces/cathedrals we will visit. Thanks!

Oh, I'm not worried...looking so forward to roaming the streets of Spain and Portugal at night with my husband..eight weeks to go...I am SOOOO excited!!!
My son is purchasing the tickets online as we speak from his apt in Los Angeles. He has faster internet than me. Sounds like he is having success.
