Will be in Copenhagen and wanted to do the nutshell tour. Need suggestions on economical flight to Bergen(or Oslo). Should I fly into Bergen spend the night, do Nutshell then return to Bergen for another night?

Since you asked for opinions... I would not bactrack, and I would spend more time in Bergen than in Oslo. There is an overnight cruise daily between Copenhagen and Oslo; consider it, maybe add one night lodging in Oslo, do the nutshell, stay a couple of nights in Bergen (more in Summer) and fly back. There are ferry options from Bergen to Newcastle and to western Denmark, as well as to Stavanger if you need another fjord-fix before leaving Norway (specifically, the Lysjafjord cruise from Stavanger). You could fly into Oslo and out of Bergen if you find it cheaper. <BR> But I also agree with Don. Depending on your time of travel, try to make time to the fast ferry to Stavanger. In summer there is Lysefjord cruises or if in reasonably shape, take the ferry with the connecting bus and walk to the majestic Pulpit Rock. If staying only one night take an evening flight out of Stavanger or if walking to the Pulpit Rock, stay an extra night.<BR>

Thanks for the information. I will be flying to Copenhagen on SwissAir in June. What is the best way to see Norway fjords in 3 days and keep the cost reasonable. Is there a low cost airline from Copenhagen to either OSlo or Bergen? If I decide to take the overnight cruise from Copehhagen then do the Nutshell, can I get a low cost one way fare to Copenhagen from Bergen?

Three days is basically nothing. You'll spend a lot of time just getting there and back. I would definitely not go to Oslo at all, although it will raise the flight price. And I do think you want to fly given the time constraint.<BR><BR>Instead of the typical Nutshell and because you want more fjords - I'd go Bergen to Myrdal to Flam because that's the dramatic cog wheel train and waterfall, then go further out the fjord than the typical Guvangen trip and go to Balstrand instead. Stay over night there, then boat all around the coast from Balestrand back to Bergen. That would be the max fjord experience in your time frame. If you want more of Bergen, then do the shorter way back through Gudvangen/Voss as a day trip.<BR><BR>Local airlines are Braathens and Wideroes besides SAS. But Braathens is actually part of SAS and I've seen the flight record of Wideroes. <BR><BR>

If you decide to take the overnight cruise, the morning signature train will have already left at 8.11 am. Next train leaves 10.43 am. You will have to stay overnight in Flom and continue to Bergen the next day.
