Norway in a Nutshell- can we bring our luggage with us?

My husband and I were planning on doing a circuit around Norway- Oslo to Bergen, Bergen to Stavanger, and then Stavanger back to Oslo. My question is, is Norway in a Nutshell from Oslo to Bergen do-able if we brought our luggage with us?

That is funny this was posted last night. I was thinking about the same thing yesterday.

Any response to this would be great.

Thanks

Yes you can. Everyone else will be toting luggage too. The more compactly you can pack, the easier for you.

The transfers are of very short distances. As long as you can lift your stuff up and down the trains, you should be okay.

My parents (72 and 63) did it with a rollaboard and a small handheld each. No problem for them at all.

Urbanp:

When we took the NIN we were told by an Oslo friend to use a shipping service...most hotels can direct you to one...they guarantee to have your luggage at your Bergen hotel before you arrive...worked well, and the cost was $40 for two rollerboards...we took our "carry ons" with us...wish I could remember the name of the company, but I don't have it in my journal. It was about a three mminute drive from the RR station, and was in a warehouse-type building.

I might add that it was a pleasure not having to make all those transfers (train to Flam train to the boat to the bus through Stalheim and to the train in Voss)
