Norway - drive Bodø to Skutvik?

Norway - drive Bodø to Skutvik?
Has anyone driven from Bodø to Skutvik, and how is the scenery? We are flying into Bodø en route to Lofotens in August — thought we could take ferry to Moskenes and pick up a rental car there but no luck, so we need to get car in Bodø. But the ferry time from Bodø is too tight ... hence the thought of driving to Skutvik to catch ferry. Grateful for any advice!

Have you already booked your flight to Bodo? If not, consider flying to Harstad/Narvik and rent car from there. We found rental cars there to be a lot more plentiful and cheaper than further out on the archipelago. It is about a 2 hour drive to Svolvaer from there and quite a pretty drive, though scenery becomes more dramatic the further west you drive.
If you have already booked your flight, check out the difference in fares of flying Bodo to Leknes or Svolvaer and renting car there vs renting a car in Bodo and driving 3 1/2 hours to Skutvik to catch ferry.
