Northwest Airlines?

HI,
I am in the proccess of picking a flight from NY to London, and found a convenient fare (586 USD is fair?) by Northwest Airlines.
Itis stopping at Detroit, but I don't mind.
Has anyone travelled by this company.
I am checking this in order to ticket the flight, so please, answer to me rightaway.
Thank you all in advance.
I've flown Northwest, no better, no worse than most other airlines. Depending when you're flying, US$586 may or may not be a good value. It's about right for September/October, cheap if it's for Christmas...

Mariela, My son, his wife and baby flew Raleigh to Detroit to Beijing, China and return, in the spring, and did not have a single complaint. Said it was just fine, and that the food was good and the seating comfortable for my 6'6" son! (They gave him a seat with extra leg room.)

Have a great trip!

I paid $570 for a roundtrip ticket on Northwest from LAX to London, also stopping in Detroit. I'm leaving in Sept. and returing right before Christmas, if that helps you determine whether or not it's a fair price.

Mariela:
United Airlines is a little cheaper than NW (for September dates at current fares)and connects via Washington DC. A little better airline than NW in my experience.

I've been a frequent flyer for the last 6 years earning special perks on several Airlines. My worst experiances have been on United. Some of my best on NW. The absolute best and worst flights I've had recently were both on American, but overall I like American. I flew round trip between SF and Masison Wis every week for nine months on NW. They did the best job of getting me exit row(for extra leg room) and when I reached the special levels they were the best at upgrading me.
