When I stay in Compostella for three days I stayed at Hostal Alfonso. http://www.hostalalfonso.com

Family run hostal. My single room was clean, modern bathroom and the morning breakfast was outstanding. It was a ten minute walk to the cathedral.

I will definitely go back there again.

My most recent trip I stayed at Hostal a'Nosa Casa, Entremurallas, 9, just inside the Historic District from the Plaza del Galicia. It cost 30 euro for a (single occupancy) double, ensuite during the week of Santiago (i.e., 25 Jul). I was making my Jubilee Year pilgrimage.

I have read some good reports about Hotel Villar: on rua Villar inside the Historic District.

I have stayed several times at Hostal Hogar San Francisco (3-star) but I don't know if their current rates are within your budget limit. The special Cotolay room will certainly not be and I found their other rooms a little too austere (spartan) for me.

For under a 100E, any of the Pousadas de Compostela chain are very nice - http://www.pousadasdecompostela.com/. The Virxe da Cerca is the nicest of the 4 which you did not mention and depending when you go, you may be able to get in for under 100. Good luck and buen viaje!
