Northern Italy Town Question

I have six nights between Bergamo and Milano, traveling by train [or bus].
Where and how long. Choosing from:
Mantova [definitely]
Modena
Piacenza
Fidenza
Cremona [bus]
And?

Well I'd add Parma to the list of choices - was pleasantly surprised by this northern Italian city.

and also near Pavia - another nice city that I would not necessarily recommend over the others there is the stunning Certosa di Pavia - accessible from Pavia by train (though the station is a long walk from the entrance) or better by bus.

Will you have any time to spend in Bergamo itself? It's definitely worth a couple of days or more.

Cremona, Piacenza, Modena, Bologna, Verona, Ferrara can easily be visited in day trips from Mantova.
Why Fidenza? Parma would be a much better choice.
None of these towns needs more than 1 day for a somewhat decent visit.

If you are interested in pre historic rock carvings, you could also visit Capo di Ponte in Val Camonica (train from Brescia in direction of Lake Iseo - Edolo - Tirano - Bernina).
