Joan, According to my book there are two Stuart's. On is called "The Stuarts" on Glengyle Terrace and the other is call Stuart House on East Claremont St. Do you know which one you stayed at? Thanks.

Hi Kam, We stayed at Stuart House on East Claremont. It was lovely and we would stay there again. Beautiful home, great rooms, good breakfast, and lovely host and hostess.Hope that helps.

Don't forget the Yorkshire Dales Kam; I don't think anybody has yet mentioned this particularly beautiful area, which is not far from York - more or less due West, about 40 miles tops. Have a look on your map for towns and villages like Harrogate, Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, Skipton and Grassington, and you will be in a super area. <BR>Don't know if you ever saw a TV series about a Veterinary practice called "All Creatures Great and Small" If so this is the type of countryside I am talking about.

hi have a grt trip. no-one has mentioned BEVERLEY,it's sth east of york and a grt cathedral.just take off and enjoy the back blocks of the dales, you can go to the Wensleydale cheese factory. i believe that Whitby and robin hoods bay are nice too.nth east of york.

However you get there, just make sure you take your camera and plenty of film. The north has some of the most spectacular and enchanting scenery that you could ever hope for. Try nor to miss going to Holy Island. Peg.

We're more 'country folk' than 'city folk,' so on our two week trip to southern Scotland and northern England last November/December Hadrian's Wall was one of the major attractions. Stayed at a B&B on a sheep farm out in the middle of nowhere and in some other very nice places farther east toward Newcastle. What made the trip overwhelmingly delightful for me were all the wonderful people we met while staying at their B&B's. And the scenery *even in late fall* was beautiful. <BR> <BR>My suggestion? Keep it simple. Do the round trip to Edinburgh and if you don't want to spend time in London at all, why should you? <BR> <BR>Have fun!
