North or West
7 of us are arriving in Dublin on Sunday, October 27th and are heading out to either the North or the West around Galway. You guessed it! Some are leaning to the North while some want to go West. We would like to return to Dublin on Wednesday, October 30th in time for Halloween. Any help? Thanks for input!

Have you considered splitting up? There is much to see whichever you choose - but the logistics of 7 traveling together is pretty difficult. Needing to rent a Van, etc. Plus many B&Bs don't have more that 2 or 3 rooms so finding one with room for 7 can be difficult.

PLUS the main thing - those who "lose" out on the decision will always wish they had gone the other direction.

How long are you going to be in Ireland/ N. Ireland?

With only two nights away from Dublin, you might not want to go too far. You'll spend one day going and one day coming back with only Tuesday to do much. Also, I believe that first weekend is a holiday weekend so make sure you have rooms booked. Cork will be packed because that is the weekend of The Guiness Jazz Festival.

Bill

I have a very biased opinion, as I spent over two months travelling in West Ireland and none in the North. But I can tell you that West Ireland, especially Galway and Clare, was and still is my favorite part of the world by far (and I have been to many countries outside of the U.S.). The people were welcoming, the atmosphere was relaxing, the scenery was breathtaking. Please ask any specific questions you may have!
