North of Spain, weather

We are spending two weeks in Cantabria, Galicia and Asturias, and would like to
have an idea what to pack...
We are arriving March 30 to Burgos, and then
to Santander etc... until April 14.
Thank you for your feedback...

Expect snow in the mountains between Burgos and Torrelavega: maybe some snow squalls. I stayed in Potes early April one year and the mountain Guardias had cross country ski competitions going on. The Palomera bus from Santander terminates at Potes until about the first of May. Potes is a geographical 'park' and the weather there was beautiful.

Apr 16 is Santo Toribio; a monastery just outside Potes named for that Saint (First Bishop of Astorga) is where the largest known fragment of the Cross on which Christ was crucified (Vera Cruz) is guarded and has been since the Moorish occupation of Spain (714 AD).

Weather should be much more temperate along the coast: Santander, Gijon, etc.; and if you run into any weather in Galicia it will more likely be rain.

It doesn't get extremely cold for long periods of time, even in the mountains; so what you pack depends on where you will be going.

It is very cold here at the moment. We live in Gijon and its miserable! There has already been a lot of snow and more forecast this week. The weird thing about the weather is that it changes really quickly and it might be really mild when you get here so pack a bit of everything...
Enjoy your trip!

My friend in San Sebastian wrote me yesterday and mentioned snow in town but quick to dissipate, but not in the mountain areas.
