North Berwick, Scotland
Hi I'm going to Scotland for a wedding in Aug and have been looking around for some budget accommodation in North Berwick, and failing to find much choice. Was hoping for a 'pub with rooms' type place rather than hotel/B&B, although it looks like we'll end up in B&B as I can't find any pubs that do accommodation. Unless you know different? We won't have car with us so can't be out of the town. Up to about £70 per night for double room...
Also what would be accessible and good to do round there by public transport. Trip to Edinburgh of course, but what else would you recommend?

Contact the North Berwick Tourist Information Office and ask if there are any.

You really don't need to stay in North Berwick since it is on the train line that serves the towns between there an Edinburgh and there are pretty good local buses. Check Muselburgh, Gullane, Dirleton, maybe Dunbar.

Hi thanks for the responses and links, will have a look. yes, we are clashing with the festival, one the one hand nice as we'll go for a day, on the other hand a pain as accommodation is tied up and expensive!
We do ideally need to be in North Berwick as there is transport being laid on for the wedding guests between there and the ceremony and back again from the reception, which is out in the middle of nowhere. And I'd rather not add another leg from N.B to another town to stay in.
