We used a similar tour company to Battlebus - Roel of Victory Tours. It was a small van (max 8 passengers) and he took us to very specific places and knew when to avoid the large bus crowds.
Roel picked us up outside the train station in Bayeux - we were driving and there is a close public parking lot, but others were taking the train from Paris, so it was convenient.
Battlebus also seemed like a good option from the reviews I read. We were limited though due to schedules and Roel worked out great!
Check out the Rick Steves site - there is a lot of detailed information about D-Day tours.

(I hope its not a problem that I posted this site?)
good luck!

Thanks for posting the Taxis du Bessin prices, which as I said confirm that its is NOT 70 to 100 Euros for a full day tour.
An example price from the list is 160 Euros for a 5 hour tour, which is not that much less than the 450 Euros most touring compnaies charge for a 9 hour tour.

Um, that's five hours of waiting time in addition to the time on the road. So when you add the transit time from Bayeux to Arromanches then down the beach to Pointe du Hoc to Ste-Mère Église and back to Bayeux (a little over 2 hours), the 160€ tour makes for a pretty full day.
Hey, I'm just trying to be fair. I will leave it to others to judge whether 160€ is "not that much less" than 450€.
