Normandy house rental

3 couples going to Lower Normandy in Sep. Have checked the rental sites until I am weary and have not found the perfect house to rent. We want to be in a small town, or city, so we can walk to restaurants & shops (Bayeaux or Trouville would be perfect). Want to tour the D-Day sites, Honfleur, Le Mont St. Michel, Rouen, etc. We need 3 bedrms, 2 baths, full cooking facilities including burners/oven for a stove. Help!

Since you didn't say which sites you have checked it is impossible to know if you have been checking the best sites. There are many websites where you can search for self-catering accommodation in France. The three that I always use are:

www.abritel.fr
www.homelidays.com
www.gites-de-france.com

Here are links to several more:

This one seems to fit your bill. It's not in a city or town, but it is pretty close to Bayeux and it is flexible in size.

Hello, too late for September holidays, but I can add Interhome : http://www.interhome.fr
They have a wide choice of accomodations.
Hope this can help other people.

We've stayed in 37 different gites throughout France - and this was one of the best!!!
