Normandy: Honfleur in late September

The last time DH & I stayed in Honfleur was in July 2003! The weather was hot & parking spaces were few. But we loved it there!

We are planning to return to France in September 2012. We will be staying in Honfleur for 4 nights in late September. I assume that the weather will be pleasant & we won't need a room with air-conditioning. Will parking be an issue?

Any other insights about staying & traveling around Normandy in late September?

Many thanks!

The "after season" is a lovely time to visit Normandy. Make no assumptions about the weather. We are having late October weather in Paris at the moment.

Parking has got to be easier then. Enjoy Honfleur. We think it is one of the loveliest places in France--actually in all of Europe.

Thank you for your replies!

avalon: Cider Festival sounds like great fun! I'll check it out!

kerouac: You're absolutely correct! The weather has been 'topsy-turvey' this year - can't make any assumptions. We look forward to being in Normandy when it's not so busy!

JulieVikmanis: Well, we have a few places in mind to stay. One has private (free) parking while the other offers garage parking for a fee. We were wondering about the possibility of on-street parking. Or maybe this will be a non-issue towards the end of September!

There is a large municipal parking lot on the right just as you enter Honfleur but it is a pay parking lot.

We stayed at Hotel Le Chat and arranged for a parking space at the hotel with them ahead of time - they had limited spaces so we pre-reserved.

Churchill hotel has free parking. It's about a 5 minute walk to the center of Honfleur.

Thanks everyone!

LynFrance: Thanks for the parking info!

seafox: Do you have a link for the Hotel Le Chat? I googled it but could not find much about it.

JerryS: I also googled The Churchill but only found websites for a hotel of the same name in Bayeux. Do you have a link?
