Norman town between Paris and Honfleur
I'll be in Paris in September and driving to Honfleur from CDG. Can anyone recommend any interesting towns to stop in along the way for a few hours?
I'm currently thinking Conches-en-Oche. I've read about the church of Ste-Foy, Hotel de Ville gardens, and a nearby ruined 12th century castle. If anyone's seen these, please provide details on your experience.
Thanks!

Try Les Andelys, a pair of towns near Château Gaillard, built for Richard the Lion Heart. Petit Andelys is perched on the banks of the river Seine, making for a picturesque stroll after the 2-hour drive from CDG. The larger of the twin towns has a fine church.
Not far from Les Andelys is Lyons-la-Fôret, a charming village. Farther on toward Honfleur is the still-fuctioning abbey of le Bec-Hellouin and the splendid ruins of the abbey at Jumièges; both are near the village of Pont-Audemer, extremely picturesque.

Get the Michelin Green Guide to Normandy and look at the drive on the north side of the Seine. Lovely lovely. You'll want it for the rest of your trip to Normandy also. Hope you're going further than Honfleur, as charming as that is.
