Nono is back from 21 days in italy

Just got back.I want to comment quickly on the hotels/b&b/locandas i stayed at:
Roma loved the location of Panda
Orvieto Loved Locanda Rosati
Montalcino Hotel Giglio ok but the town is hard to drive in all one way streets.
Siena Didn't like Palazzo Brucchi
Florence B&B Peterson liked the room but not the location
Venice I had booked a specific room at Barbarigo but somehow ended up in an apt around the hotel.Didn't enjoy the place, very inconvenient.
more comments later, happy thanksgiving all and thanks for all the advice, replies I got before the trip

Welcome back nono. Can you tell me what was wrong with B&B Peterson location? And what area in Florence you might recommend instead? Thanks.

Now THAT's a trip report. Not one iota of purple prose there.

nono, we also loved Locanda Rosati. Did you do dinner with them?

We spent one night at Peterson's. They have 4-5 rooms on the 2nd floor of an office/apartment building. You check in and out with someone using a cigar box. The room was clean, bathroom nice, bed uncomfortable. It's on the other side of the train station from all the activity of downtown Florence. If you are on a strict budget, go for it. I certainly wouldn't stay there on my honeymoon.

If you want a nicely priced (inexpensive) Florence Hotel, try Hotel Casci (pronounced Ca-shee) Great location, good service.
