Thanks for the advice, Stu.

<Isn't travel planning fun !!!> Actually, most of the time, it is! But I've never had such a complicated, frustrating situation as this.

I'll give the SNCF a few more days to see if they reinstate her train. If not, I'll call and try to get that reservation tranferred to the one leaving Libourne at 14:36 or perhaps one leaving Bergerac at 13:39. They both connect in Bordeaux to the same TGV to Paris. That is, if I can believe the current schedules!

Sorry to beat a dead horse here, but I think I might have a solution to my problem. Tell me if you think this would work.

The 12:27 train is still not on the SNCF schedules. But I'd like to hold on to that ticket in case it is eventually reinstated since it gets my friend back to Paris earlier.

What if I bought another ticket for her for the train that leaves Libourne at 14:36 and arrives at 18:55. It appears that it is reimbursable since she is a senior. Here's what it says.

DECOUVERTE SENIOR : Billet échangeable et remboursable soumis à condition.Etre âgé de plus de 60 ans le jour du départ.
Conditions tarifaires : TGV Prem's : Billet non échangeable, non remboursable. (Those are both beside the same button.)

I cannot find, however, what the "condition" might be (other than the age requirement). This ticket is now around 38 euros. (It was 27 just yesterday.) If I don't buy it now I'm afraid it will continue to go up in price.

If the 12:27 reappears in the next days or weeks I'd try to cancel the ticket for the 14:36 train and get reimbursed for it. Otherwise, I'd keep this one and hopefully be reimbursed for the 12:27 that has apparently been cancelled.

Anyone see a reason why this wouldn't be a good idea?

I emailed the SNCF again Sunday evening, have had no response thus far. I may try calling again tomorrow but if they tell me again that the ticket I have is still good, I'm not at all sure I can trust that since they told me before that it would be back on the schedule by March 1.
