Quick Getaway from London -- Ideas?

Hi, I'll be in London and I'm thinking of flying somewhere for a few days. Before you suggest that I spend more time in London, I'll say that this will be my 23rd trip there, but most of the trips have been short. I've also been to Paris 25 times.

My initial thought was Croatia, but it seems I've waited too long, and cheap tickets are gone. So I need to think of a plan B just in case.

Some suggestions that have come up -- Portugal (I've been to Lisbon), Malta, Sicily.

I've been to Scandinavia (except for Finland), Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Prague, Israel, Greece, Istanbul, Budapest, Vienna.

I haven't gone to Ireland, Poland, Finland, Russia; I'd like to go sometime, but maybe not this trip.

The trip is in a few weeks time. Where would you suggest? I'm just trying to get some more ideas in case I missed anything obvious. Thanks!

One of my personal favorite hops from London is Morocco. There appears to be a choice of 6 possible airports in Morocco from London airports on

I guess that would be the wrong continent?

I think it's not a likely destination for me because I don't have any time to plan and I know nothing about Morocco. But if I have 3 days, what would you suggest?

I haven't been to any of these cities but I don't see them on the list of places you've been or have considered, so just throwing them out there...

Sofia
Vilnius
Ljubljana
Edinburgh
Glasgow

I went to Edinburgh about 20 years ago. Actually someone else suggested Edinburgh to me as well, but I'm not sure if I want to go again at the moment.

Haven't been to the others, thanks.

I keep checking the Croatia tickets hoping the prices will come down....

Traveling in Morocco is no more complicated than anyplace else you've never been. Tourism is the country's biggest industry so everything you need is in place for an interesting few days. I'd suggest Marrakech. Find a nice riad (upscale guesthouse) in the medina, maybe check Trip Advisor reviews and just go. No big deal.

Have you checked out the cost of flying to Trieste and taking a bus to Croatia?

Iceland? Good chance of seeing the Northern Lights at this time of the year. Plenty of weekend deals from London

Thanks, I think Iceland seems cold at this time for the year.

I think plan B for me is probably Poland, though that's cold as well....

Hi, I decided to go to Croatia after all. The ticket is about $360 (from London), after I've moved some dates and the cheapest option was on Expedia. Undoubtedly it'd be cheaper and connections are better during high season, but I think that this is a reasonable compromise. Thanks again everyone.
