Hi, my sister and I stayed there the beginning and end of our trip. It's within walking distance from the train station and on a non-vehicle street, very quite. The staff is wonderful!! I highly recommend it. If you would like any other info, restaurants, etc. feel free to E-mail me. Have a great trip.

We stayed here last year at the end of our trip. A wonderful little hotel in a totally non-descript building. The taxi took us to the address, and we and the driver had to scan the "buzzer board" to verify that the hotel was really there. Once inside - just great! The staff are wonderful, friendly, and very helpful with all sorts of recommendations and information. The location is super - it was a 7 minute walk to the Duomo, and 5 minutes the other way to the subway station (4 stops to the "Last Supper"). The rooms come in 3 different sizes and prices, and are not all on the same floor. But there's an elevator in the building, so that's not a problem. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone going to Milan.
Their web page is: www.locanda.it. Their phone, fax and e-mail are all there.
BTW - if you can't get in (there are only a few rooms), the Hotel Star (3 Stars) is just a half a block down the street. It doesn't look as charming, but the location is great. Their site is: http://www.starhotel.it/eng/main.htm. I don't know how good it is - I've never stayed there.

How much did it cost you to stay there?

Hi Mike - they list their rooms at ITL 200,000-300,000. As I recall, there are 3 prices: 200K, 250K and 300K - it depends on the size of the room.

My husband and I will be staying at the Antica Locanda dei Mercanti in October. Any tips on good restaurants nearby? Shopping?
