well what i have found so far most reasonable price was about 85-90 euro per nite in Rome
(this is all based on hotel reviews from various sites)
few i looked @ state few min walk to termini and 20-30 min walk to city centre.
i am just starting to check hotel, prices and reviews so appreciate any suggestions i can get.

We need to know what cheap means to you. For some people it's 75€ and for others it's 200€. Do you need a single, double, shared bath, private bath?

If you want basic and clean with private bath (no tv, but there's supposed to be a tv room - I didn't look for it), I stayed at a convent in Orvieto. I think the curfew was midnight and I paid 31€ for a single last September (breakfast was 3€ and had a big variety). It's in the historic center. Click on where we are and scroll down to see the picture of the convent on the edge of the cliff.

Why do you want to be so far from the sights in Rome?

The price depends on what time of year you are travelling! Do you have your dates?

Do you mean you dont want to be more than 1 mile from attractions or you want to be at least 1 mile from the attractions?

I was going to suggest the Pantheon area for its close proximity to all the major sites ie walking distance.

I know of a wonderful place but I wont quote prices because I dont know when you are travelling.

Let us know.

As the others have pointed out, what budget, time of year, and how many people are travelling? E85-E95 is pretty much what single rooms in the center of Rome go for, but if there are 2 of you and it's not low season, under E120/night is a bit hard to find.....Unless that's why you want to be outside the center.

Hi Jerry, sorry for not getting back to you sooner! It has been school holidays here so havent had much time to get on the computer.

The B&B I mentioned is the B&B Baldassini right near the Pantheon. It is well-priced for the excellent location, has a fantastic breakfast and is in easy walking distance to all the major sites.

My young son (11yrs) and I walked everywhere including to the Vatican/St Peter's.

I'm returning again to stay in March.

Here is their website: www.baldassinibeb.it

Here you can read some great reviews:
http://rome-hotels.tripadvisor.com/H...ome_Lazio.html

I just had a look at their website and it seems their is one room available for the dates you mentioned. Go to the website and have a look - It's the Classic Room which is available with private facilities and breakfast included.

As I mentioned in another post the owners sent me an email saying they would be on holidays til the end of August but can be contacted by mobile phone which is listed on their website.

Also, if you like, you can quote my past guest discount code of (BBB777) to receive a small discount on your accommodation.

I know you will love your stay in Rome at the Baldassini.

Good Luck with your accommodation search.

Cheers,
Melissa
