NFL week in London
Last year about this time, there was a long thread about the American football game being played that week-end in London.
That time has come around again!
Anybody going? Anybody want to go? Is it another sell-out?
New Orleans Saints v. San Diego Chargers. Anybody got a favorite?

>>It's like when they used to carry the party conferences live.<<
Occasional bouts of shouting, bumping into each other and falling over, and long periods of glaring at each other and chest-beating, interspersed with conspiratorial huddles, with frequent cutaways to studio experts mangling clichés to state the bleeding obvious.
All the difference in the world, obviously.

Go Chargers! and also, Go Saints! I can't decide, the Chargers are my home team so I suppose they get the edge, but Drew Brees, the Saints' quarterback, used to be a Charger and is still very popular here. Many of us were very angry about the way the Spanos family treated him. And of course, Reggie Bush, who isn't playing in London because of a knee injury last week and surgery on Monday, comes from San Diego.

and a couple of weeks ago, i couldn't get into our National Theatre because a National Basketball Association promotion took up the entire forecourt in front of the theatre...complete with a life sized basketball court.
i guess our 'cultural institutions' will sell out anything for a little cash.

Not a patch on Tottenham 2, Bolton 0. That's proper football.
That must have been a long time ago.
I watched them play Udinese and thought they were terrible, but who am I to complain I support Heart of Midlothian.
Watching the American football now (on BBc3) and enjoying it bery much, good high scoring game.
