Julie,
Thanks so much for the report. The Budapest portion made me smile as we just flew in from there this morning. We drove in too and the red signal for turns was definitely tricky. My trouble was though that everytime I'd stop at a light, I'd look for the lights to be across the street - only to find I was side by side with it and couldn't see when it changed. It took some getting used to.
PS - we picked the Taverna for the first part of our trip. Not plush but we liked it ok, mostly for location. And for the Gambrinus restaurant in the hotel. Fantastic food - maybe the best meals I've ever had. (we came back even when we weren't staying there anymore)
Again, thanks. Enjoyed the whole report!

Thank you for this report Julie, such a lot of work you did to share this
"next time there will be a bus...."
When we were driving on a narrow one lane road into the Mts in Jamaica and cars kept flying around the curves coming towards us, just missing us each time, I said to my husband...next time there will be a bus and there will be no survivors! LOL
I am glad you were not in such a scary situation
