New Year's in Florence
We're going to be in Florence on December 31 and January 1st. Will all the museums and other tourist attractions be closed for the holidays? Any suggestions for a festive restaurant for a New Year's Eve celebration dinner? Will restaurants be open on January 1st? Thanks for any advice.

I'll be in that region on New Year's as well and am curious as to if I'll be roaming around an empty city on January 1st. I'm also interested in learning if there are any big celebrations in Florence on NYE. I read on another post about fireworks, but wasn't sure if this was just for last year's big Millenium celebration. Help please.

Mary,
For some reason people do not seem to go to Italy as much during the December holidays. At least that is a response that was given yesterday.
If you do some searches , you may turn up some tidbits, but most posts do remain unanswered.
A woman did write a post (concerning New Years in Venice )and there were some responses that might help you there.
Good luck.
