to the top. Any response brings your post to the number 1 spot and makes it easily visible. It won't stay there for long though. Sometimes people have nothing to add to a thread but want to bring it to the forefront so they write ttt, or topping.

If all you want to do is to keep an eye on a particular thread, you can bookmark it on your own computer, rather than keep drawing it to everyone's attention but with no new content to it.

Others will write ttt (or make some other meaningful or meaningless comment) so that a particular thread shows up on their own "Topics You Commented On" list.
