Fodor's new look...

I just sent Katie an email thanking them for all their hard work on the site, and asking whether any of the requests on our wish lists were included. So far, I do not see any of my top 3: editing a post, subscribing to a thread, and a better search function.
I will post what she responds.

I think the look will be an improvement once I get used to it.

Really, what's new? No kidding. The banner and words at the very top? My browser, Firefox, blocks pop ups. Am I missing pop up advertisements now? Wouldn't want to miss those now would I? Whatever, I do thank Fodor's and Katie for their support.

regards - tom

Hello everybody!
Thanks for the feedback---momliz, there's a lot happening today but I'll get to all of that mail, including your mail, soon enough. Thanks for your patience!

This site-wide upgrade and relaunch was mostly directed towards the destination guides. We haven't altered the Forums. There's so many exciting things that we'd like to pursue in this area, including your many suggestions, that it really is its own project.

You've probably seen me jumping in to ask your thoughts on particular features you'd like to see here. All that feedback will be taken into consideration as we turn our attention to the Forums in the future.

When I tried to open the new site (several times) this is my error message: Error Occurred While Processing Request
Cannot open connection

The error occurred in /new_www.fd.com/www/lib/data_destination.cfm: line 5

3 : <cfscript>
4 : variables.dest_id = attributes.dest_id + 0;
5 : variables.tx = request.session.beginTransaction();
6 : variables.destination = request.session.createQuery("from dest where dest_id = est_id&quot
7 : .setString("dest_id",javacast("stri ng",variables.dest_id))

Grcxx3, you CAN edit after posting, here's the trick:

Write your post and be sure to preview your reply. Once you've previewed, hit post my reply. If you find an error after posting, hit the "back" button, which will take you back to the preview screen. You can then edit or delete your post.

True P_M unless you close your browser before editing. If so, and you did preview before posting, it should be in your history file..though for some reason mine aren't always there

that way to edit has never worked for me, whether I close my browser or not. I just end up with two almost identical posts.

Strange thing happening with my browser Firefox today. Was not happening yesterday. When I do "Post a Reply" I'm getting an advertisement (WAIKIKI) overlapping into the reply box area. I can simply type over it, but not very "elegant" formatting.
