Now, now, Chuck, one good thing about us is that we tend to read pretty carefully. And if you did, you'd see that I was taking Rex's side, not "picking on him"!!! (Doing so because he was NOT attacking "Asia" in this cluster of threads and because he has been redeeming himself lately for past you-know-whats). So I'm a "nice" lawyer, AT THE MOMENT, but I'm also many many things besides a lawyer and "lawyer" does not define me. !

Esq I,<BR><BR>You're absolutely right, and you are indeed a nice lawyer. I misdirected my message: should have been to Gerry (and Esq. II). Have a great day despite my inadvertent attempt to spoil it.

Esquires and all:I think we may be all missing the issue here. My point was not to attack Rex. He was in fact acting as a gentleman. I was just trying to get his attention. I was trying to act as a "whitsle blower". I tried on all three posts to subtley point that we were being set-up. Nobody seemed to get my message. I became "frustrated"(no comparison to "frustrated!!!" post intended). I finally resorted to the sledge hammer. Thank you fellow esquires for coming to my aid.<BR>To the issue:What we have here is troll. The best I have ever seen! I, and several others(see frustrated!!!" post) took the bait. I now feel stupid and I'm sure some of you will agree I must be. In true fodor's fashion, the inclination here is to attack the victims as it must surely have been their fault--stupid,dumb tourists. The real and malicious perpetrator here was asia. You have to read all three of the asia posts to see this. Me, Rex, Art, Elvira and everyone else that answered asia's posts were the victims. We've heard from the esquires but I'd like to hear from them. Why? Because I want to keep this nonsense alive? No. Because I'd like to learn how to prevent this from happening in the future. Trolls like this are not helping this forum.(You may notice that people are still answering the other 2 posts as though they are legitimate.)<BR>Thanks esquires all for your helpful analysis of the issue.<BR>Unfortunately, I must advise: Watch out for the sharks in the water!<BR><BR>Gerry

Perhaps there is another explanation here. This could be a case of dual personality. Like the case of Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hyde. Here it would be Dr. Yuen and Mr. Asia. I offer this exchange from frustrated post to illustrate one personality.<BR><BR>"Author: yuen-pitre ([email protected])<BR>Date: 06/22/2001, 07:49 am ET<BR><BR>Message: Hi JHM and Lee. <BR><BR>thanks for the kind response and suggestions...much appreciated. <BR><BR>JHM, most of my trips have been conducted by this company (they are packaged tours) - try this website and talk to your travel agent about getting the package from this tour company. their website is www.toureast.com. I visit the canadian site as I live in Toronto. I find the Toronto site is better. www.toureast.ca. <BR><BR>Happy travels to Vietnam...we have only been to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Bali as they are our favourite spots....if you need any advise on these areas let me know!"<BR><BR>Und my colleague Dr. Rex. One needs to consider the Ego's need to protect itself from embarrasment in doing a diagnosis.<BR><BR>Best Regards,<BR><BR>Carl<BR>

let it rest carl! don't you guys get it, maybe this person posted several times as they didn't receive any information the first round...stop acting as if you own the site....you guys need to get a life...if you read asia's message he or she has been apologetic and did agree to your suggestions Re: visiting the library. so stop it now...you and gerry seem to make the situation worst and let me ask you...how many email accounts do you have? I have a feeling that you guys are starting to get racist just because this poster has an asian name....geez, if you have something against this, don't start creating BS around this site and making the rest of us look like one too....gerry and carl...GET A LIFE YOU BIG LOSERS!

Hi! I just came back from Europe and had a terrific time. I'm in the process of drafting up a report for those of you interested in it. The cities I visited were Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona and Rome.<BR>Definitely the best 2 were Paris and Rome. Lots of good things to see and eat too!!<BR>However, just an fyi--&gt; my friend and I backpacked there. We stayed at hostels which for the most part were ok. (If you really like to have your own shower, I recommend staying at a hotel.)<BR><BR>Anyway, hope this helps. Ask away if you need any more details.<BR><BR>

Rex shouldn't get any credit for being nice to Asia. Why? Because he didn't do it out of genuine concern or a desire to help. He did it to sell a slot on his upcoming tour. He mentioned the tour at least twice. So if he was going to reel in a naive fish like this, he had to be nice for a change.

I would suggest Italy, especially in fall. With two weeks, you could easily spend a decent amount of time in Rome, Florence, Siena, possibly Naples, depending on what direction you wanted to go.<BR><BR>Italy is great in that the food is wonderful, the people extremely nice, there is always great site-seeing, and it isn't overly expensive in general (except possibly Venice).<BR><BR>so, in all :Florence, Rome, Siena, Bologna, I would suggest a small tour around these places, relaing at each.

As you have been back to Europe many times I would say you are well travelled. My partner and I are planning to do Europe in 2015 and we have about 6 weeks to travel in. As we have never been to Europe before we have no idea how we should do it. Have done lots of reading etc. but the more I read the more confused I seem to be getting. Any tips on what you would say are the best places to see in our time.

Soulch - you should start your own thread rather than adding to a thread from 2001.
