nervous about venice reservation?
I made a reservation this morning by telephone at the Hotel Bernardi-Semenzato in Venice. At first she acted like she wasn't going to have anything and then she offered me a double with bathroom. Since the price was over our budget, I asked for a double without a bathroom and she said (reluctantly) that she had a small one available without air. We are going September 11, 12, 13. I faxed her my credit card number and all of our information several hours later. How do I know for sure that we have a confirmation? Also, is my room is going to be okay? We are on a major budget so as long as it is clean I don't care if it is tiny. We won't be in it except to sleep. It has not A/C but surely there will be a window to get some air??? Anyone know anything about this hotel? I am actually surprised I was able to get a room at this late date. Thanks in advance. This is my first post but I have been reading the board a lot and all of your posts have been very helpful in planning our trip!

I don't know whether you're in the annex or not, but the Bernardi-Semenzato is considered not only one of the "Little Wonder Hotels" of Venice by Reid Bramblett in Frommer's Budget Travel magazine, but THE "Little Wonder Hotel of Venice."

We stayed in the Annex (family of five).
Loved it! Loved it! The main hotel is ok. The owner is very nice. We met him when he brought us to the Venice Hospital (long story). I think your stay won't be so eventful. Bread and jam for breakfast. Nothing exciting. Have fun. We loved Venice!
