Yes, you are right. I can't believe I left out the "little" as I call it "the Three Little Pigs". I asked our "new" friends about the other place -- Pigz-- but they said they didn't like it as much.
And yes there are two Breakfast in America diners. The other one is in the Marais. In fact our waitress was on the phone to the other one to have somebody run over more hamburger as she didn't think they'd have enough to last the day.

The St. Martin's Canal boats are easy to spot on the river just a bit towards the Eiffel Tower from d'Orsay.
They say you MUST have reservations, but when I called the afternoon before to do so, I got a recording saying that next day trips were available and to be there by 9:15 for the 9:30 cruise. We were and it was less than 1/3 filled. The boat says "CANAL" on it, unlike all the other river tour boats.

Patrick, I've been catching up on my reading. Thanks for this great report. It's inspiring.
We've dined at Thoumieux four times over the past several years. The food is good (the oysters are memorable) and the atmosphere is entertaining. There is an elderly regular whose dog sits across the table from him. And last time we were there I noticed a patron react in surprise when the silent and unnoticed resident cat walked behind her legs ...
I love Paris.
