Need travel suggestions for traveling to Ireland from Normandy

Hi. We're planning to fly to France from Seattle in June of '04 for D-Day celebrations, and then we'd like to travel to Ireland (our first time there) for a week or so. I thought we might fly into Paris and spend a few days there first before heading to Normandy. From Normandy, I'm wondering what the best way to get to Ireland would be. Maybe take the train via the chunnel to London and then a flight from there to Ireland? Other suggestions? Can we arrange to fly out of Shannon or Dublin back to Seattle instead of going back to Paris without increasing our fare to much? And is there a web site that gives average temperatures for Ireland in June? What's the best time of year to go to Ireland in terms of warmer weather? Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

Irish Ferries run from Cherbourg to Rosslare (www.irishferries.ie). The ship leaves late afternoon and arrives the following morning.

Consider ryanair.com to fly Dublin to Paris (Beauvais) - - often dirt cheap. Or via London Stansted to Dinard.

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
One of many climate websites:
http://www.onlineweather.com/v4/ireland/climate/
also:
http://www.ireland.com/weather/climate/

June is a pretty good month to travel in Ireland though tourism is on the constant rise druing the month. Most Ireland experts will suggest May and September with pretty good weather with lower tourism and crowds.

You might consider going to Ireland first, which would put you there in May.

Bill

Board early to get seats, you don't want to stand for the entire trip. And be prepared for some inebriated folks, they're usually harmless but don't be expecting a Sunday School picnic.
