Need to get from Amsterdam to Bru?

My flights arrives in Amsterdam on 1/4 at 7:30am. I need to get on a flight out of Brussels at 7:50pm that same day. What are my best options? How is the train? Is the train station in the airport? Or am I better off flying from Amsterdam to Brussels?

Thanks.

Using From: AMS and To: BRU check your options at http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

You will see that trains run every hour at :12 with a connection at Brussels Nord. The trip takes 2:44, so you'll have plenty of time for a good Dutch beer or six before your train.

There's not much point to flying, since you've got 12 hours to make the transfer.

Where are the train stations in relation to the Brussels and Amsterdam airport?

The Schiphol airport train station is just a few steps from Customs exit and then take train as Robes peter says to Brussels Nord - about 2 hours then airport shuttle to Zaventum Airport from that station

Should take no more than 3 hours

Note there are IC trains and Thalys trains on this route

Thalys typically can cost much more and require reservations

The IC trains are only marginally slower and are flat-fared - just buy ticket at Schiphol Airport all the way to Brussels-Zaventem Airport - probably about $30-40

www.ns.nl - Dutch railways web site
www.b-rail.be Belgium rail web site (? .com?)

IC trains go hourly - just hop on after buying ticket.

And remember the ticket machines don't accept any credit cards - Dutch included. You'll either need cash, an ATM card with a Maestro logo and 4 cipher pin, or easiest go to the ticket counter, though you may have to queue.

and pay a euro more at the ticket window and yes i've seen queues have grown or perhaps the number of ticket windows open decreased as NS apparently tries to force folks to use the internet or machines
