Need to fill 2 more days! HELP!

Hi everyone --

We will be staying at a converted convent in the town of Bazzano right outside of Spoleto for 3 days during my trip to Italy. I have an apartment in Florence right after this but there are two nights/3 days inbetween that I need to fill with something wonderful.

We will have been to Rome, Orvieto, Spoleto, Asissi, San Gimanao(sp?), Pisa so we want to go somewhere else for a two night stay... After Florence we'll be in Venice so that's out. Any wonderful suggestions? The lakes? Capri? I have no idea where to go... or what to do. Thank you so much for any help.

K. Reed

We just stayed in Montalcino for a few nights and enjoyed it very much. The town is lovely with great restaurants. From Montalcino, you can easily get to Pienza, Montepulciano and Siena...all are worthwhile.

See the Val d' Orcia. Lorac has a good idea, but also look at this one for a good centro location and an easy drive from Spoleto to San Quirico: www.palazzodelcapitano.com

Yep... will have seen Siena, too... Not that we will run out of cities mind you! The consensus among us, however, is that we'd like to take a long train trip somewhere for those days. Normally I wouldn't go for it but maybe seeing a different view would be a good thing and it would be sort of relaxing on the train to just watch the beautiful scenery go by and end up somewhere totally different before we go back two days later to Florence.

Thanks for the help!

Or we could even fly, for that matter. Totally open...

Lucca is a great place to visit or if you wanted to go farther, head up the coast to CT. Both are not too far from Florence and close to Pisa.
