need Sunday lunch restaurant recommendation near Musee Marmottan and/or Metro Stop La Muette

Any recommendations for an inexpensive lunch near the Musee Marmottan Monet and/or the La Muette Metro stop in the 16th arrondissement? Is Restaurant Des Chauffeurs at 8, Chaussee de la Muette still there? It's listed in Sandra Gustafson's Great Eats Paris from 2001.

We ate in a local cafeteria there and had a tasty lunch--right up toward La Muette stop--shoppers and locals abounded in there--reasonable and quick--I would suggest selecting a local resto you pass on the way--there are lots of them--neighborhood spots.

There's a fairly long street just before you get to the park through which you go to the Musée Marmottan. We had a nice lunch at a tea salon there, but there were quite a few choices--you should have no trouble finding something good.

On the"fairly long street before the park" there is a bakery or tea salon that is part of a Japanese chain. There is no smoking and we enjoyed this and the lunch so much that we ate there again. Perhaps Underhill knows the name.

Thanks--same one I was referring to--you order at the counter filled with beautiful goodies and then then deliver to your table-- several Japanese staff .

After visitng the Museum we walked over to La Rotonde de la Muette, at 12 Chaussee de la Muette. There was outdoor seating, price was reasonable, waiters very friendly. Good spot for people watching (but what outdoor cafe isn't??)

The operative word here is "Sunday" so I think the advice about picking a place on the way is good. We, too, had a bite at the little pastry shop. I have looked for the website that lists restaurants open on Sunday but could not quickly find it. There is such somewhere!

Thanks for all the great recommendations! I'm sure I'll find a place enroute from the museum to the metro stop.

Just returned from Paris. Had a great time despite the rain. Thanks for the restaurant recommendations. I found the pastry shop with the Japanese staff. It is called Yamazaki and is located at 6, Chaussee de la Muette. Telephone 01.40.50.19.19 The food was good and there are a half-dozen choices for types of hot chocolate. I had the one with 70% cacao and it was fantastic. I liked it much better than the hot chocolate at Laduree which I found to be too sweet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Gave us recommendations on what to do on that wet Sunday afternoon and how to get there from where we were.

I work right by la muette so I know the restos in the area. The 'Japanese' teashop is ok but for me it reeks of rancid butter.
Les chauffeurs was wonderful -- it is closed now. On chaussée de la muette, there is la rotunde (pricey); la park (decent salads); le tabac (smoky as expected) but nice selection of bar food; la gare is wonderful (an old train station converted to a resto with seating 'downstairs' where you can eat on the terrace (old train tracks) not cheap but very nice.

Bon App!
