Lunch in Lafayette, LA

Our trip to New Orleans and Cajun Country is getting closer, so I am doing my last bit of research. So hard to concentrate on work right now

I realized that I need some lunch recommendations for Lafayette. We are planning to visit Acadian Village one day and maybe explore Lafayette a bit - nothing too strenuous, just some general wandering.

Any good recommendations for places to get lunch?

Do you want anything in particular?

Blue Dog Cafe is nice.

When are you going?

Gator Cove has good crawfish and A & B Henderson has good BBQ.

Cafe Des Amis, Breaux Bridge. Make reservations for dinner. Check their events calendar if you can be there on a Wed or Sat. It's a short drive from Lafayette, and not to be missed!

I'm having posting trouble so if this has already been posted please disregard.

I second the recommendation for Don's. They are a Lafayette landmark.

You might also check out Copelands on Ambassador Caffery. Not far from Acadian Village. I recommend the Richochet Catfish.

For pizza and calzones LaPizzeria. For pizza Deannos another Lafayette landmark.

Mexican would be LaFonda's.

Poboys try Old Tyme Groceries. They have the best reputation in Lafayette.

Please don't miss Morvants in Youngsville for the best hamburger/cheeseburger ever.

My mouth is watering even though I just ate.

Elevation gives good recs but just a note on some of them.

Copeland's on Ambassador Caffery is quite good but also relatively expensive.

I can't believe I forgot Old Tyme Grocery. Parking can be a pain and be prepared for a line though.

Morvant's in Youngsville definitely fits the casual request.

I'm adding a vote for Don's. My husband has relatives nearby, and a stop at Don's for a meal was always a requirement for his family.
