Visiting London for a week in mid October. I am from South Florida and used to heat. What can I expect for weather at that time? Also, will be staying in Paddington area. Any good casual restaurants there? Also, would like recommendations on best day trips to Stonehenge - Astral Travels or Evan Evans Tours?

San Marco Italian restaurant on London street near paddington station. Good reasonably priced and family run. Good fish and chips at the Dickens pub on London St. also.

October is likely to be chilly and possibly wet. However, it is not unknown for us to have an Indian Summer but come prepared. You will find casual restaurants everywhere. For a quick snack, try Pret a Manger, there are lots of them. Great sandwiches. Avoid the tourist traps in Oxford Street and find some pub grub in the back streets around there. We watched the World Cup in a pub behind Oxford St and it was great.

Stonehenge isn't very far from London, and you'll only spend an hour there, so your choice of a tour should consider what else it will do in addition to Stonehenge. We enjoyed the Astral "Inner Circle" special access tour.

If you're near Paddington Station, take a train to visit Bath. Maybe a little over an hour and nice to see, especially on a bad weather day as you can be inside at many of the attractions.
