Hi all,<BR><BR>My trip is getting closer! I will be arriving late on a sat (8ish) and I want to book a restaurant in advance to have dinner that evening. Also I am looking for places to get breakfast. For restaurants I am looking for medium priced places as I am going christmas shopping and don't want to spend too much. <BR><BR>FYI if any of you can get the Sunday Times (UK) there is a article in the travel section on Christmas shopping in NY, Paris and Rome. It may come in helpful to some of you<BR><BR>Thanks in advance!<BR><BR>

These 2 local restaurants are close to the Muguet and have received great reviews -- Le Florimond around the corner on Av. de la Motte Picquet and Le Nuit de St.Jean on Rue Surcouf, just off the Rue Cler.<BR><BR>I loved our stay at the Muguet. Hope you have a great time!!

Florimond is closed Saturday and Sunday. Be SURE to go at sometime during your visit!! La Fontaine de Mars on the corner of Exposition and St. Dominique is our favorite and you will need a reservation. There is a good brasserie right at the Ecole Militaire Metro called La Terrasse where you could just go in. Food is good and reasonable. Around the corner from la Terrasse is Bistro du Papa where we had a VERY attitudinal waiter and would not go back. There is the Bistrot du 7eme at 59 (I think) blvd Latour Mauborg. Menu at 16? (!!) and it is excellent. Le Petit Trocquet on Exposition and Auberge du Champs de Mars, also on Exposition--latter cheap and good, former very nice and still reasonable.<BR>For breakfast the Muguet has a nice selection and excellent coffee. They also have newspapers in the lobby for guests. This trip we went to the Cafe du Marche about 2 blocks down rue Cler for coffee and croissant. There is another cafe closer to laMOtte Picquet that is also serviceable for breakfast.<BR>On Saturday nights at any of these restaurants except a Brasserie you will definitely need reservations.

Le Florimond is open on Saturday. We had dinner there two weeks ago.<BR>It is closed on Saturday for lunch.

anyone have a website for Florimond or ph number so I can make a boooking. It seems to get great reviews from the search I did. Thanks everyone!

It was recommended to us on the Forum. Delightful cuisine, nice service, really great value prix fixe menu. We are off to Paris this summer and staying a the Muguet. Thank you for this information. I wrote everything down and I just hope I won't loose all my little scrapes of paper.
