need recommendations for driving tour Naples to Pompeii and Amalfi Coast

Greetings,

My wife and I will be arriving in Naples by cruise ship early June '06 and would like to take a private driving tour of Pompeii and Amalfi Coast with stops at Ravello and Positano.

We'll have roughly 9 hours and would greatly appreciate any recommendations on private driving tours for our proposed itinerary.

thanks!

Benvenuto Limousines in Amalfi.

You can find them on the web, but you can also find about two dozen threads giving you the names and websites and phonenumbers of many drivers Fodor's posters have used and were glad to recommend. Try the search, because people don't necessarily want to keep tying the same information over and over.

MDTSEA - Try these for a quote:

- Naples-based

www.taxinapoli.net/

- Sorrento-based

www.tourofitaly.com
www.francescomarrapese.com
www.cuomonet.it
www.seesorrento.com
www.sorrento.it

- Positano-based

www.positanocarservice.com
www.flaviogioia.com
www.limocarservice.net
www.benvenutolimos.com (Praiano)

I don't think you'll be able to do all you plan in 9 hours by car - it'll be a rush. (Personally I'd drop Ravello from your itinerary ... )

A better plan IMO might be just getting the hydrofoil to Positano, then taxi to Pompeii ...

I don't know if you can do it all in 9 hours, but you could easily take the Circumvesuviana train from Naples to Pompeii, and at least Sorrento in a day. There is bus service from Sorrento to Positano if you don't spend alot of time in Sorrento.
