Need recommendation for budget hotels in Florence and Venice

I will hopefully be staying 1-2 nights in Florence in February and maybe the same amount of time in Venice if I have time. I have visited both places before, but only for a short time a long time ago, so I can't remember where we stayed. This time I will be travelling solo. As long as the hotel is fairly central, clean, safe, bug free, at least one step above a hostel, cheap (under E100 a night), I'm fine. I will be visiting DD, SIL and GS in Milan for a month while a new baby arrives. I thought a few days away will give us a break from each other, and give them time to get used to the new baby without me being there. It would also give me a chance to re-visit places I loved 1st time round.

In Florence, I've stayed at Alloro B&B which is between the train station and Duomo.

Venice in February that's one of the lowest seasons so, if you avoid carnavale period (that's 14 - 21 Feb it seems), €100 can get you a nice 3* hotel. Take a look at a booking site such as venere.com. Or one of the popular Venetian hotels Penisone Accademia 3* is around €90 / low season rate. You might not see it on booking site so need to contact direct. Unlike the booking sites, some (popular) hotels might require a deposit if contacted directly though.

Very good hotel where I have stayed a few times. But if you are not picky, there are lots of other hotels (3*) for as low as half the price of P.Accademia in February.

Hi Joto,

We stayed here last October and liked it very much. It definitely fits your budget and other requirements.
