need info from March 2001 National Geographic Traveller

Hi everyone,

I booked tickets on Monday to go to Europe on Friday (I'm crazy) and while I'll be staying with a friend in Amsterdam for the most part, I'd like to spend one night in Paris.

In spite of the unbelievably short notice, I want to try reserving at the hotels that were listed in the March 2001 National Geographic Traveller... and I can't find it *anywhere*! Can anyone provide me with:

a) at least, the name and number of the hotel from Montmartre that was listed, and the same for the one in the Marais/Bastille area that's still a working hospital

b) better yet, the names and numbers of all the hotels in the article, if you have lots of time on your hands

c) best of all, a complete scan of the article, if you have the technology and are feeling particularly magnanimous. If you go for this option, please note that my e-mail address is different now than when I used to post here a year ago: it's now [email protected] (frickin' Hushmail now deletes their free accounts after three weeks with no login. Oops.)

Thank you so much for your (anticipated) help, Fodorites!

- Quicksilver

Quicksilver, maybe I missed it, but didn't see the old post with the list when I just did a search. If no one else can dig it up, I'm going home for lunch and can dig my copy out of the "travel closet" and fax you a copy (sorry ... no scanner here). Drop me an email or I'll revisit before noon to see if you found the list.

I believe you can go to the tourist office on the Champs Elysees and get them to book you a hotel if that will be of help to you.

BTW, for next time you are looking for something from a back-issue of a magazine. Call your local public library. They archive back issues of all periodicals that they collect, and can get you copies of the article you need. (Most will even fax the pages to you.)
