Albergo Milano closed until March...

I am trying to make reservations to stay in Varenna at Albergo Milano next June. The website says that the hotel is closed until March - does that mean that they won't be making reservations now, and my email won't be answered? If anyone knows the answer... thank you. I would hate to wait until March to find out they can't take us.

Typically, hotels like that check emails once a week and try to reply. But, this is their time for vacation as well. I had one Italy hotel tell me they just gotten back from Cancun in December. Email and fax--you will get a reply before year end.

I had the same situation a few years
ago - IIRC, they got back to me to
let me know in about a month - and
then in March I did the actual
booking. The problem with AM is
it fills up so quickly and is so
popular you really do want some
assurance that your booking is
secure. Great little hotel and
well-run; after all, she is Swiss!

Hello PSGMARTINO, I am not familar with that hotel but usually hotels respond quicker to faxes then to emails. They seem to take faxes more seriously so I would fax them and if no answer fax then again around January 8th or so. Best wishes.

I hope that it works out for you. We spent several days there in July '07 - it was a delightful hotel, ask for the room with large balcony, can't remember the name.

We dined at the restaurant in this hotel and the food is good.
It was pouring that night and she offered us a ride back to the monastery where we were staying.
This hotel is in a good location close to the ferry dock.
