Need hotel in Prague!!!

Will be visiting Prague in May 1999 and need name of a good hotel. Would like double, ensuite...with price around $80 to $100 per night. Stayed at a Best Western last time and I think I spent way too much.
Thanks,

Tom
We stayed at Penzion Balbin on Balbinova near the Muzeum Metro & Wencelas Square so 5-10 min. walk to just about anywhere & had a nice, clean room with shower & toilet in room, helpful English-speaking staff, and serve-yourself breakfast. It is on the top floors of an apartment building with elevator after 1st flight of stairs, with outside door to street locked. The rooms have skylights & I recommend it highly. We paid $35/night for 2 in Nov. 97, but I understand that it is $80/night for 2 during high season as are most nicer penzions near city center. We used AVE Accommodations because the guidebooks said they had better listings. Email [email protected] for options & more information or me if you have questions.

We stayed at Hotel U Pava in Prague this past summer. It is located right off the Charles Bridge and is reasonably priced. Walking distance to everything including basrs and restaurants.

Hi, we stayed at the Pension Ditezenhofer in Aug. '97. The price was under $100 -- I think closer to $80 -- and it was our favorite stay during the trip. It's located in a charming, quiet part of Mala Strana, overlooks Kampa Island, and our room (with bath) was large and airy. It was owned and mangaged by a husband and wife; he speaks English and she speaks French. They were kind and friendly and arranged transportation to and from the train station and airport -- there was a problem at the time with Prague taxis cheating tourists.
I returned from Prague Monday. We stayed at Hotel Express for less than $30 a night and it is in old town a three minute walk from the astrological clock. We shared a bath and toliet with others and it wasn't terribly clean. But we went the economy style route since we only planned on sleeping there. They did deliver breakfast to the room and the view is phenomenal. They also have better cleaned rooms with private bath for more money. It is on Skorepka 5. Good websites are http://sunsite.mff.cuni.cz/prague and http://www.czechsite.com

Myy wife and I were in Prague in August/97. We stayed at a great little hotel in Mala Strana called the Hotel Sax. It was about $95(us) but spotlees and modern with a great buffet breakfast included. Its in a great area, very safe and about 30 seconds to the U.S. embassy. I highly recommend it. Let me know if you need some restaurant recommendations.

Thanks to all for the advice. We visited a website of The Cloisters and have decided to stay there. The cost is $100 per night for a double. The location appears to be very convenient, within very easy walking disyance of the old towne square. Thank y'all once again for your replys. Tom
