Need Help with Summer Itinerary!
I am travelling to Europe this summer and would like some help planning an itinerary.
I am travellng with my family of 4 and another family of 4.
We wanted to visit Paris, Berlin, the French Alps.
We were also looking at a time frame of about 2.5 - 3 weeks. We want to have a fairly relaxing trip. We dont mind sticking to a set schedule but we also need flexibilty.
So basically, we were looking at mainly Germany and France with particualr intrest in the places mentioned above. But if we can fit some other places in there it would be great.
We also wanted to get some ideas of hotels. Since there are 8 people, we wanted a relatively cheap place around 75Euros per night. Also, if there are any apatment rental sites, that would be helpful.
Lastly, we were abit confused about travel while in Europe. Should we rent cars or should we just use the trains?
THANK YOU!

75 euro per night per room for two? per family? for all eight of you? Maybe in a very rural "apartment" (or house) with only one bathroom. I can't imagine that you want that.
For France, at least, I would recommend looking at www.slowtrav.com - - also search here on this forum for "citadines" ("aparthotels" in Paris) - - and try www.francevillas.com
Best wishes,
Rex

Okay, mabe I was unclear about the 75Euros a night. I was looking around that range for a room for each family...so a room for 4 people AROUND (not exactly) the 75Euro/night range.
Also, short stay apartment rentals would be best!
Thank you!

Hi, maybe for paris try looking at the website myhotelinparis.com. They have prices that are budget, moderate, and expensive. Also try Fodors, Rick Steves. There are hotels out there in that price range, but if they are a pretty good value chances are they are already booked. I wanted to stay at a well known 2 star in Paris called Hotel Muguet and it was 108 euros per night. I also waited too late (tried to book late December of last year for late May of this year) and I ended up booking the ST. Thomas D'Aquin for 120 euros per night. I don't know what hotel prices run in French Alps an Berlin but I would start seriously looking because summer is busy.

Have a look at Hotel Sofia, in the 18th near Montmartre, they Quad rooms for about 80€/night. This is a 1 star hotel, totally clean and very friendly! In the area of Montmartre, you can find a lot of restaurants, fast food.
You can see the hotel on http://www.hsofia.com and also book your room through the website.
If I were you, maybe I would rent cars...It will probably be less expensive than trains and above all more easy because as you are 8, probably with children I guess, trains may be difficult. Trains in France are very comfortable...But for 8, cars will make you more free than trains...and allow you to visit more things!
Have a nice trip!
