need help with Eurail Pass & info

I bought a eurail pass a couple of months ago; it's a youth pass
and I don't really have much of a clue how it works
What part I am supposed to write on?
Do I have to wait until I get it validated to write my dates? or do I write on it before or not at all?
as you can see I have no clue on exactly what I am supposed to write on

thanks!

here's the picture of my pass, could you tell me what I should fill out before going?

No, do not write in the dates. The first and last day will be written by the ticket agent when you validate it. Then YOU will write in the date of travel as you get onto the train. DO NOT FORGET TO WRITE THE DATE IN! You will be fined if you are on the train without that day's date entered. With your pass you have 7 days of travel. Just enter the date as soon you get on the train. If you are taking a night train, enter the next day's date and your pass is good for the night train (after 7:00PM) and also the following day.

Wait. I thought you were trying to get tickets from Paris to Caen and back. Is this for some other portion of your trip?

What are you up to with all these train reservations?

wait I have a question, what if I don't know my last date yet? It says 7 days within 2 months is it 7 consecutive days or any 7 days? I understood it was any 7 days
do I also need to fill in my passport number?

so, so far these are the tickets I have purchased with my Eurail Pass:
Milano->Paris june 24
Paris->Rennes june 28
Rennes->(Paris, connecting)->Venice this is a night train june 30 arrive at Venice july 1

so these would count as 4 days right, did I understand right?

the next 3 days would be from 1.) Venice->Florence
2.)Florence->Rome and 3.) Rome->Naples
and I'll buy the Naples back to Milan normal fare or switch if it costs too much

nothing ^_^ I'm just trying to figure out how it all works, I'm completely oblivious

Well, you're sure confusing me, but you may have a better handle on it all than I do. I tend to think that anything that involves a Eurrail Pass is probably a rip-off, though. Could be wrong about that.

You will not have a choice on your last date. The pass is good for two months from the date that it is validated.

Forgot-No do not fill in your passport number. The ticket agent will do everything. Your 7 days are not consecutive-any 7 days from the date of validation to the end which will be 2 months from validation. Do not write on your pass until it has been validated and you are traveling on that day. It's actually very easy. Just do not forget to enter the date when you get on the train. On some trains you will need reservations. So you will need to go to a ticket office and pay for the seat reservation only.

oh okay I see what you're saying
so if the first day I'm leaving for a train is June 24 it's good until two months after that? unless of course I use up all seven days, right?

Yes, that is right. Remember about the night train. If it departs after 7:00PM, enter the next day's date. Then travel the next day without using another day. Be sure you have it validated on the day you begin your train travel.
