Need help with driving distances
Traveling to Poland for two weeks. First part of trip is very close to Rzeszow(visiting family). We then go to Krakow for five days and Wroclaw (more family) for three days. There are many sights we want to see near krakow, but I'm starting to worry that we won't have time to see everything. I was wondering if any of the day trips are doable from Rzeszow. What is the distance from Rzeszow to Aushwitz, or the salt mines, or the city with the Black Madonna?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

sdkur3,
I am sorry I am unable to give you the information you seek. However, I have posted similar questions regarding distances and was directed to a couple of online map sites such as mapquest and maporama. I noticed that maporama.com does have Poland listed in the drop down menu.
Not only is one able to find the distances on these sites, times are also given.
These sites are fun to use, give them a try and good luck.

Driving in Poland can be very interesting. Most of the major roads may be only two lanes with alot of truck traffic. This means you may not be driving 75 or higher mph. So drive times that you get from the online maps (i.e. viamichelin) could be longer.

Distance from Rzeszow to Krakow is 147km ... http://www.pilot.pl/index.php3?tool=...amp;miasto2=58
You can take Route #4 which is fairly good and at the rigt time your avg. speed maybe 90/100km per hour... from Rzeszow right before Krakow there is Wieliczka ... and then if you continue on Route #4 and connect to faster A4 going West from Krakow about 60km there is Oswiecim (Aushwitz). so yes Daytrip is duable and both can be seen in one trip if you leave very early and then start coming back at around 5pm ...
I don't see you mentioning day trips around Rzeszow... At least try Lancut which is near Rzeszow and has really nice Castle ...
