Need help with Areas around Florence-Italy

We would like to get some recommendations from you on a great guide who can take us/tour us (drive us) to some really good places to see or go to areas outside FLORENCE for seeing wines, areas that work with wine and areas where we can work with with areas were we can cook or other things that we are unaware of.

We want to know who could be our guide for three of us. Please recommend someone who is really good that we could hire for 2 to 3 days.

Thank you.

Hi Nan,

Luca at www.hillsandroads.com is recommended often on this site. He was booked when I was planning our trip this past March, but he recommended his associate, Alioscia Lombardini, who was great. We booked a day trip from Florence through Tuscany to Siena, but I think you can also book longer tours, and they will tailor them to what you want to see. Good luck!

Nan - I highly recommend Luca Garapa of www.hillsandroads.com.

He is an intelligent, fun-to-be-with young man. He is a very safe and excellent driver. And he is passionately in love with his country and will "infect" you with it as well!!

We used him about 2 years ago for 2 separate touring days. He tailored the days to suit our needs, abilities and wants. He picked us up from our hotel in Florence, drove us around all day, and dropped us off in the evening.

If you do a search on this board, you will find MANY people who highly recommend him.

Good luck!!

Some friends have stayed at Le Torri just outside of Florence and have used their listed tour guides. One is the already mentioned Hills and Roads.
The list from their website.

DRIVING GUIDE TOURS
This is a "complete" service, very rare in Italy. This service will permit you to do away with the need of a rental car or other extra services.

For excursions - a person (interpreter/guide) will collect you.
For this kind of services contact:

Ignore the masternet link as it seems to no longer be valid. A quick google search for Paolo turned up this link with several other guides.
