Need Help Quick Please

Hi Everyone, my husband and I are in Venice right now staying at the wonderful Monaco Grand Canal hotel but are both so stressed out from the whole Europe trip so far (went to Amsterdam, Normandy, Germany, Switzerland and Italy) that right now we just want to relax for a few days. Does anyone know of a nice beach town not too far from here? We are from Florida, so we are quite spoiled...lol. I searched on the web and so far only found kind of crowdy looking places. Any ideas or recommendations?
Thanks as always for everything, we'll post a travel report when we get back.
Be Blessed

Croatia? I've never been, but my friends rave about it.

I've seen many raves about the Croatian coastline on this board as well. So many that we are planning our next trip to Croatia! If you type "Croatia" into the search field you should see lots of information.

Good luck and I hope your having a good trip!

Have you asked anyone at the hotel? They s/b able to recommend something. It's hard to imagine you'll find anything near Venice that's as nice as you are accustomed to, but I wish you luck anyway.

Lido de Jesolo 45 minutes north of Venice has a very wide beach. The sand is brown not white like Florida. Many of the hotels have pools but not all have AC. This area is mainly Italian tourists on beach holiday.

While in Italy, why not Positano on the Amalfi Coast -- awesome location.

Since almost anywhere on a beach in Italy is likely to be quite crowded at this time of year, I would suggest that you not go to a great deal of trouble to go somewhere as far away as Positano or in another country like Croatia but simply move out to the Lido in Venice for a few days. The Monaco & Grand Canal concierge should surely be able to suggest a good hotel there and to make arrangements for you.

Piran--just across from Venice in Slovenia and a great location. But, since you live in FL--as do I--I would get a car and drive into the Dolomites this time of year. I love Castelrotto.

Hi

You could come across from Venice by car or train and go to the Riveria or Cinque Terre!

The beaches in the Riviera are rocky but, the beach in Monterosso al Mare in the Cinque Terre is sandy (if I remember correctly).

Thanks to all of you
We ended up in Lido di Jesolo. Nice beach front hotel with pool. Not too crowded...and we only drove about one hour from Venice.
Thanks again
