Need B&Bs in Copenhagen and Stockholm
Would appreciate any advice on Bed and Breakfast locations in Stockholm and Copenhagen – don’t seem to find much info on these areas anywhere. Would prefer that they be close enough to the train station or a “metro” stop that we can walk there each pulling a wheeled luggage carrier, and that it be in a safe enough area to walk in the late evening. We will arive in Copenhagen on a train from Hamburg at 9:30pm and don’t want to spend time searching when we get there. The second preference is that they have an e-mail address or Web site to establish a firm booking. This is for two middle-aged folk who have been in Europe but not Scandinavia. Appreciate the help always provided at this great site

They are not called B&B's per se in Copenhagen. They are called tourist rooms. There are some recommended ones in Rick Steve's Scandinavia in 2-22 days and Lonely Planet Denmark. They don't have e-mail addresses or websites that I know of. I believe the TI office will be closed at that hour. The neighborhood around the train station in Copenhagen is somewhat sleazy in the immediate vacinity, but only for a block or so. The Hotel Danmark is a nice reasonable centrally located hotel about a ten-minute walk from the station, just the other side of Tivoli. I and others have recommended it here before. Can't help you with Stockholm.

Hello,
Here are three web sites that might help you with your search. 1. www.visitdenmark.com 2. www.ctw.dk 3. www.aok.dk On the aok.dk site look for the little British flag at the top right of the screen to change to English. All three sites have information about accommodations in Copenhagen.
Even though the area around the train station in Copenhagen might be considered a bit sleazy, you are right across the street from Tivoli. There are usually lots of people around, so I would not worry too much about being safe. Depending on what time of year you get to Copenhagen, there is a good possibility that at 9:30 in the evening the sun will still be shining. From the Danish Tourist Office Book: Sunset June 1 - 9:50pm Sunset July 1 - 9:06pm.
Hope the above information helps.
Sorry I cannot help you with Stockholm.
Hope you have a wonderful time in my favorite city, Copenhagen.

Iowa_Al
Hello again,
Sorry I could not find this last night, but better late than never. For info on B&B's in Stockholm try the web site: www.visitsweden.com Under accommodation they have a sub-heading for B&B's. Looks like there is site for Stockholm only and other sites for the rest of Sweden.
Hope this helps. Have a great trip.

Iowa_Al
